Day #1
Our day begins with a SWEET TREAT after everyone has boarded the bus. Our first stop is BREAKFAST en- route to Clayton, NY. Clayton is a charming village located on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River. This picturesque community offers a perfect blend of small-town charm and natural beauty. The 1,000 ISLAND HARBOR HOTEL is our home for the next 3-nights. After checking into the hotel, you will have free time to explore the hotel, grounds, and town. The hotel offers modern, comfortable rooms with upscale amenities. Many rooms come with views of the river, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Day #2
Your day starts with a BREAKFAST BUFFET. Your friendly, local STEP-ON-GUIDE will meet your group in the lobby and depart for your “DISCOVER THE 1000 ISLANDS TOUR”. We start the tour at TIBBET’S POINT LIGHTHOUSE with a GUIDED TOUR of the lighthouse and grounds. The lighthouse is not open for visitors to climb. The Tibbetts Point Lighthouse marks the point where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River in Cape Vincent, New York. Next, we will board our boat for the ULTIMATE SIGHTSEEING TOUR. This tour which includes LUNCH, features a 2 NATION TOUR through both U.S. and Canadian Waters. A Stop at HEART ISLAND for a tour of Millionaire George Boldt’s, Rhineland style castle. The story behind BOLDT CASTLE seems to be from a romance novel. The story will come to life as you visit the 120-room summer home. Due to the sudden death of George Boldt’s wife in 1904, the project was never completed and was subject to vandalism for many years until the T.I. Bridge Authority began managing the castle and started the restoration according to Mr. Boldt’s original plans. The Ultimate Sightseeing Tour travels through MILLIONAIRES ROW viewing magnificent summer homes of the rich and famous of the Gilded Age. Another highlight is a stop at ROCK ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE where you may climb to the top of the lighthouse to enjoy a magnificent view of the St. Lawrence Seaway Shipping Channel. (Entrance to the Lighthouse is dependent on seasonal availability). Day #3
Your day starts with a BREAKFAST BUFFET. Our first tour of the day is a GUIDED TOUR of the ANTIQUE BOAT MUSEUM. Known as the nation’s largest collection of freshwater watercraft, artifacts, and archives. Articulate Docents give informative tours of the museum exhibits including George Boldt’s Golden Era houseboat, La Duchesse. Visiting the 1,000 Islands is not complete without a stop at THOUSAND ISLANDS WINERY for a WINE TASTING. The Thousand Islands Winery, located in Alexandria Bay, was the first winery in the region. The owners established a new grape-growing region in New York. Cheese, please… Our next stop is 1,000 ISLAND RIVER RAT CHEESE in Clayton, NY where you will have the opportunity to try locally made cheese. River Rat carefully selects and ages their New York Cheddars to perfection, this aging results in a sharp and tangy finish to their cheeses. In addition to cheese, they also have several North Country Delectable Treats which are Cheese Curds, Croghan Bologna, New York Maple Syrup, and more. The hotel is a 5 block walk from 1,000 Island River Rat Cheese.The remainder of the afternoon is on your own to visit any of the shops or cafés. 1000 Islands Artisans and Delicacies is 1 block from the hotel and a nice place to browse the work of local crafters and confections. DINNER is included at the hotel and the remainder of the evening is on your own.

Day #4 Your day starts with a BREAKFAST BUFFET. Unfortunately, it’s time to say goodbye to New York’s 1,000 Islands Region. We have one more adventure to make your tour complete. Yes, we are going to BETHEL WOODS for A GUIDED TOUR. Lunch is included. The Story of a Generation…The year was 1969. The world was rapidly changing and a group of young Americans were searching for their place within it. In that time of conflict and uncertainty, three days of peace and music seemed to be just what a divided nation needed. What began on a stage in the middle of a small New York farm field ended on the world stage.
